VCSE engagement has a positive impact on communities by improving health outcomes, building trusted relationships, and supporting resilience, social cohesion and innovation. The impact is seen through improved community well-being, more tailored and culturally appropriate services, and better communication between public bodies and local citizens.

Effective VCSE engagement requires strategic partnerships, a better understanding of their value, and a collective effort to secure their role in decision-making. Aspire NN's impact figures highlight some of the key areas we’ve worked within, and the impact this has had to support, influence and develop the North Northamptonshire VCSE sector.

Supporting Diverse Communities

We have actively engaged with organisations from and who work with the diverse communities and with those in society who are at risk of increased vulnerability, marginalisation or isolation. Our team has considerable skill and experience in this area, and we will be working collaboratively and proactively to capitalise on this to build on work so far. Working with partners has strengthened this reach, for example NBCT and NNSE.

Challenges We Support

When working with organisations they have presented with a wide range of challenges. Principle among these, and the largest, was challenges around funding.

We’ve also supported with volunteering, promotion/ publicity and governance as well as offering advice and guidance and assisting with relationships, networking and collaboration within the sector, connecting organisations together.
